Frequently asked questions
How do I connect my Google Calendar?
Open the Family Check-In channel on your Roku, go to Settings, and follow the instructions to connect your calendar. You'll visit familycheckin.org/link on your phone or computer to complete authorization.
Why aren't my chores showing up?
Check that:
- You've selected the correct calendar in Settings
- Events are tagged with the correct format (e.g., "Take out trash [John]" assigns the chore to John)
- Chores can have end times (all-day events or specific times) or not. End times determine when a chore is "due" - if the end time is in the past, it's considered due. When all due chores are completed, the column header displays its configured color.
- Events are scheduled for today
- Your Roku is connected to the internet
How do I reset my calendar connection?
Go to Settings in the app and select "Clear Authentication". This will remove the stored OAuth tokens and allow you to reconnect.
Can I use multiple calendars?
Yes! You can configure separate calendars for chores, family events, and meals in the Settings menu.
How much does it cost?
Family Check-In offers a 7-day free trial, then $5/month for continued access.
